b i t t e r r e f l e c t i o n ~ my poetry

The way that she slowly drops
All her petals like a crying blossom
That dies in muted summer breezes
Makes me sick in my stomach.

The way that she forcefully swallows
Thin slivers of a sour reality
And her own bitter reflection
Makes me sick in my stomach.

The way she casts so many self-centred pebbles
And sits behind a mask
That unconsciously drips a shadow
Makes me sick in my stomach.

The way that he gapes
At the narrow promises
And the gorgeous possibilities
Makes me sick
In my big,
Fat
Stomach.

the complete opposite to what i am thinking ~

Me and my friend Izzy. We are the coolest people ever. Us rangas have many ranga powahhz which include burning fire, straightening/ironing/crimping/curling powahhz, and also giant scissor powahhz. i have eyeliner powahz also. Izzy doesn't though.
If you get too close to us, we'll either freak you out by yelling RANGAAAAAAA or burn you with our ranga powahhz. water makes our fire powahh stronger. blue fire is hotter than red fire.
We have a ranga symbol that all rangas should proudly wear. it is a small black heart about 1cm long with a red pen outline, worn on the index finger knuckle of the left hand.
wannabe rangas are "wrangas"
rangas that are failures (eg. fat, not proud of their ranganess, normal) are called retard failures. Yes, its very original.
Rangas should stay with their own kind and then mate so we can make ranga a true race.
*random multiple choice question on board*
one choice is "fire"
Izzy: FIREE!!!!
Marli: YEAH, FIRE! RANGA POWAHHH!!!!!
Teacher:the answer is fire
Marli: yeaaaaaaah! RANGAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Izzy: RANGAAAAAAAA!
Everyone else: WTF? ROFLCOPTER!
*Marli and Izzy are now rolling on the floor laughing at their ranga powahhz and everyone else is laughing at them*
Marli: heh heh we'll burn everyone with our fire powahh!

Irrational Fear

Why do people fear things that are so crazy? Today, I will delve deeply into the issue of unnecessary or irrational fears. I beleive it has something to do with past traumatic events and that everytime you see that certain object, it triggers bad memories. So, I was thinking, maybe if I shared with you my fears, I wouldn't feel so bad anymore.

Some of you have known me for many years now. You may also know that I have many of these strange fears, as demonstrated by my behavior while watching the movie Finding Nemo, walking underneath the giant whale at the museum, looking at the sky for a long period of time, flushing the toilet on an airplane being in the presence of Bum Face (his name has been changed to protect his identity), a clown, a dinosaur, a piece of rock melon, a fire engine or a talking tree. Although this may seem strange, there is a reason behind it all.

~

My Top 10 Irrational Fears - and the stories behind them.
oh yeah and sorry there's actually only eight but top eight sounds crap, not as good as top ten.

Fear #8 ~ Talking Trees
My Aunty is a pupeteer. She does kids parties. In one of her gigs, she dressed up as a tree. If a tree talked to you, would you be scared??

Fear #7 ~ All Forms of Aquatic Life, But Mostly Whales
When I was young, my father took me to watch a harmless little movie called Pinocchio. It was alllll fun and games until Giuseppe got swallowed by the whale. That part really freaked me out. So now every time I watch a movie that involves whales (i.e. Finding Nemo), or hear some sort of whale song, or walk under the giant whale in Brisbane, I get a little shakey.

I think dolphins are evil. THEY ARE NO NO CUTE. They have sharp teeth, and they're really smart. One day they will take over the world and force all of mankind to be slaves. This thought probably just sneaked into my mind from reading too many Douglas Adams novels (it's a trilogy of five! ^_^) and past memories of Mrs Tremellon soothing dolphin noise music in year sev that she used to play during class. I HATE THAT MUSIC SO MUCH it follows me everywhere!!! Even when I fall asleep I can still hear the soft EHHH EHHRRHHs of the dolphins.
Don't like fish either.

Fear #6 ~ Dinosaurs and Fire Engines
When I was still a little toddler, Mum used to take me on frequent trips to Dream World, the local theme park. For some reason they had life-sized dinosaurs that moved and made loud noises on display. It would scare any child! I was also scared several times by tsimilar displys in nearby museums. I was so scared of dinosaurs that Mum says when I saw a picture of a dinosaur I would start crying. She had to check the next page of the picture books she read to me so that I wouldn't get a suprise attack. She also had to check for pictures of fire engines because I thought that everytime there was a fire engine, it meant there was a fire so...

Fear #5 ~ Clowns
It's so cli
ché, but I have to admit, I really do not like clowns. My first bad clown experience was again at Dream World when I was around two or three. Goldie the clown seemed to be where ever I was at the time. Mum knew Goldie made me upset, so she tried to get him off her tail. Sadly it didn't work and I was left scared for life. My most recent bad clown experience was in China, you can check it out in my previous China blogs.

Fear #4 ~ The Sky
No reason, I just get nervous at the thought of all that unlimited space! If I stare at the sky too much, will I fall in it?

Fear #3 ~ Rock Melon
It smells like vomit and its the most disgusting fruit ever.

Fear #2 ~ 'Bum Face' and Possibly You
Oh, I really don't like him. I'm not going to tell you why either. And the reason I dont like you is because well... why don't you go look in the mirror and tell me JKS love youuu

Fear #1 ~ Flushing the Toilet in the Airplane
It makes a loud noise zmm

Complaint Letter Generator

this is gold - http://www.pakin.org/complaint

MY COMPLAINT LETTER ABOUT WEI EE ...

Dear Sir/Madam

Parts of what follows below were actually painful to write. However, because of the ongoing misinformation campaigns launched by Mr. Wei Ee Ying and his cat's-paws, I feel it is my duty to write this. Let us note first of all that if I didn't sincerely believe that Wei Ee should just exercise some common sense and some common decency, then I wouldn't be writing this letter. Let me end by saying that I know that what I have written in this letter will send many readers (especially any who are big fans of Mr. Wei Ee Ying) into a tizzy or a tantrum. I am sorry, but I remind them that thanks to Wei Ee, I'm now suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome.

Yours Sincerly

year elev leadership camp xD

first of all, i would like to ask a question. what is it with malaylays and that stupid xD face thing?! its on everything!!

anyways ...
this week i went on my year 11 camp. actually, it was more like an eating convention since we had breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and suppper. oh man, so full already! it was heaps of fun and full of excitement, even from right at the start...when the bus broke down on a cattle grid and we had to carry all our luggage to the accommodation. lolio

it was beautiful ! tyalgum camp was full of wonderful nature and animals such as llamas, emus, goats, cows, horses and ...birds (i hate birds they scare the crap out of me)

no seriously, there was this bird that lived in the stair case and flew out at people's faces. i didn't get the opportunity to get a pic of it, so here! i drew it in the back of my note book:
its true, it really did look exactly like that

i got to hang out with my old besties like bonnie and lauren

as well as make new friends like (left to right and not includding me) jakie, aicha, tongyu/adela and...

min !

we made a tower of cards out of straws (you see, leadership is like a tower of cards, if one card is taken away, the whole thing falls down) omg we're so smart

i found out i was a 'T' person, a person who is soft, compassionate, kind, indecisive and apparently has qualities of both hitler and marcia hines ..

we had our own pool table and ping pong setup ! haha nathan lost ...

i got to stay up all night talking to the girls about boys, clothes, etc.
haha me and adela are worms xD

so all in all, i had a really fun time. i hope to see all my malaylays in a few months time for an awesome experience at xyz !! im so excited zolv

A Boy Named Fat Kid - a strong sadlib

wow i am pretty bored right now. i went on this sight called home star runner its hilarious. i typed in random words and it came out with this >>

There once was a boy called Fat Kid. Nobody at Rolf Harris Elementary School like him. They hated him and smelt on him and called him cat. Once they even put a smelly cat in his underpants. He told the teachers, but they just made fun of yo face. There was a girl named Martha Stuart that thought he was cute, but she smelt cats. Fat Kid was very smelly that day. Then one day he got smelly and everybody like him. But then he found out they were only kidding and really making a cat out of him. He smelt some more. He is still a cat today.

MIKADO

i had a music excursion
we went in a cab to the train station and then we caught the train (duh) up to brisbane.
yay i love brisbane it makes me happy
i think the highlight of this trip was when some dude got arrested on the train yay
a chinese dude stole ciggarettes and money off some fifteen-year-old girl with herpies on her face. the police stopped the train and everything ! it was awesome
anyways ... this is me and my pal lucas. lucas is pretty cool and he is christian just like me!^^
(left to right - micheal the guitar, ally the singeth, me the awesome, lucas... being all weird?)
we are the best the mikado, incase you didn't know, but you should because everybody knows that *cough* bonnie *cough*, is a musical. it is set in japan and its kinda racist lol. "we are the gentlemen of japan, we all look the same" - chorus
the story starts when a young man called titipoo falls in love with a young girl called yum yum. but they tots can't hook up cuz poobah (the authorities, note authorities is a plural) is gonna get him executed by the lord high executioner. he is saved because the lord high executioner doens't actually know how to execute people. well, nobody ever told him!

the dangers of global warming zam zam

this is my physics assignment, and yes, i got an A sweet!

* Introduction *
People use electricity everyday all around the world. In fact, Australia alone generates approximately 191 313GW per hour (see Appendix 3). But what is behind all the power points, wires and cords that have now become the basis in our society, how does it work and how much does it cost? *Methods * There are many ways in which to get electricity. Some are good for the environment, and some are bad for the environment, but most people use the unclean ways and damage the atmosphere severely (see contribution to pollution). i). Nonrenewable methods... The main sources for electricity in Australia and most other countries come from unrenewable fossil fuels such as:
  • Coal
  • Oil or petroleum, and
  • Natural gas and propane
They are formed from the rotting remains of old plants and animals millions of years ago and are finite; once they have been used up, there is nothing left. To make electricity, the fuel is burnt underneath a vat of water to make steam. This steam turns giant turbines and this creates energy which is then turned into electricity. Nuclear power is another source of electricity and although it isn’t classified as a fossil fuel and doesn’t give of greenhouse gases, it is still nonrenewable because there is only a set amount. To get power from it, the same concept of the power station is used, but except for burning fuel, a small quantity of radioactive uranium is used to make the steam. This might sound clean, but nuclear power stations produce massive amounts of lethal toxic waste that is non-biodegradable. In fact, the radio-active waste produced from places like this stay radio-active for over 100 years. It is hard to find places to dump this waste and if we continue to use nuclear power, the earth will become a giant dump. There is also the potential to have a major disaster like a nuclear melt down, such as Chernobyl in 1986 (see appendix 5) and cause complete chaos. ii). Renewable and green methods... Renewable energy is becoming increasingly popular as time goes on. This is because they are good for the environment, and the nonrenewable sources are quickly running out. Some green methods include:
  • Hydro energy (water energy)
  • Wind energy
  • Biomass energy
  • Geothermal energy and
  • Solar energy.
But if there are so many types of clean energy, why does only less than 1% of all of the world’s electricity come from it? The problem with the clean energy is that it is much too expensive and far too inefficient to supply enough power for us, or is it us with the problem? As I sit here typing on the computer, listening to the radio and talking to somebody on myspace with lots of lights on, I wonder what would happen if everyone just cut down on their electricity consumption (see Recommendations). Could we rely of green power methods then? * Contribution to pollution * Global warming is a dilemma that has started to alarm Australia and the whole world alike. If we continue down the road of creating excessive amounts of greenhouses gases and carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels at a shocking rate, then there will be no ozone layer to protect the earth from the strong rays of the sun. Pretty soon, all the ice in the North and South Poles will melt from overheating and flood the world.

Other side effects include acid rain from the carbon dioxide releasing sulphur into the atmosphere and joining onto rain droplets and creating sulphuric acid.
Also, the extremely hot temperatures will cause many species to die out, and if it gets too hot, maybe even humans will die. This could potentially wipe out all existence as we know it, an apocalypse.
If we use green power and save electricity (see Recommendations), then we can save the world from its fate.

*Electrical devices in my home *

Device Usage/hour
Convection Oven 1500W
Dishwasher 1500W
Oven 4000W
Toaster 1100W
Phone 16W
Kettle 2200W
Iron 1200W Fridge
Freezer 508kW
Stovetop 1200W
Fluorescent Light 15W
Slow Cooker 750W
Ghetto Blaster 22W

* Cost of electricity *
The price of electricity changes everyday at a very fast pace (see Appendix 4), so it is hard to say what the exact price of electricity is. On the 29th of August, electricity cost an average of $35.88/MWh off peak hours, and cost $38.62/MWh on peak hours (7am - 10pm).

* Conclusion and recommendations *
We can’t make the problem of global warming go away forever because of all the damage we have already done, but we can make a difference (see appendix 9). There are alternatives to using most electrical appliances in the home. For example, I have a hair straightener that I use everyday. Every year, it cost around $12 of electricity a year because it is 42watts and my mum and I use it for about 2 hours per day (see appendix 7). If we don’t use it, we both look really ugly (see appendix 6), but if we just tie our hair up and wear lots of make up instead (see appendix 8), then we can be stylish and save approximately 0.6% of the $2052 annual bill at the same time. We could also save by preventing the use of unnecessary light, turning off the television when it isn’t being used, get insulation so that we stop using the heater so much and sing to ourselves instead of listening to the stereo.
My household’s bill isn’t very high because only two people live in there and we don’t own a clothes-dryer, games console or an air conditioner. More people should be like my family because although sometimes we are horribly bored or have sopping wet clothes, we are well on the way to making the world a better place for future generations.

*Appendix 1*
One alternative is ...

"Yelling releases excess carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Anger will be demonstrated via sign language and harsh glaring"

(Ways Jack Bauer Will Fight Global Warming, http://www.kxmb.com/News/Nation/150735.asp)

*Appendix 2*

me with un-straight hair = yuk

*Appendix 3*
me with straight hair = yum, but not good for the environment *tear*

*Appendix 4*

if i just tie my hair up and wear lots of make-up, i am an environmental babe!
